This section provides an overview of GPT's Senior Executive Committee (SEC).
The SEC is responsible for all aspects of the management of the Group, its properties and services. This includes determining the strategic direction, managing assets, acquiring and selling properties, accessing funding and providing appropriate services to investors. The team has a long history with GPT, ensuring continuity of processes and systems.

Michael Cameron
(Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director)
Mr Cameron joined The GPT Group as CEO and Managing Director in May 2009 and has over 30 years’ experience in Finance and Business.
His past experience includes 10 years with Lend Lease where he was Group Chief Accountant then Financial Controller for MLC Limited before moving to the US in 1994 in the role of Chief Financial Officer/Director of The Yarmouth Group, Lend Lease’s US property business. On returning to Sydney in 1996 Michael was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer, MLC Limited before moving to the role of Chief Financial Officer, then Chief Operating Officer of the NAB Wealth Management Division following the sale of MLC.
Michael joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in 2002 as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and was appointed to the role of Group Chief Financial Officer soon after in early 2003.
In 2006 Michael was appointed to the position of Group Executive of the Retail Bank Division of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, leading a team of 20,000 staff servicing eight million customers.
Michael was Chief Financial Officer at St.George Bank Limited from mid 2007 until the sale to Westpac in December 2008.
Michael is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, a fellow of CPA Australia and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michael O'Brien
(Chief Financial Officer)
Michael and GPT’s finance, tax and treasury teams are responsible for the Group’s capital management, accounting and financial reporting functions.
Michael was appointed CFO of GPT in September 2009 having held the role of Chief Operating Officer since 2005. With over 20 years of experience, Michael joined GPT in 2002 as Fund Manager and, prior to this, held a variety of roles with Lend Lease including roles with Lend Lease’s retail business managing GPT’s retail portfolio.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of NSW and is a fellow of the Australian Property Institute and a Director of the Property Council of Australia and GPT Funds Management Limited.
James Coyne
(General Counsel and Company Secretary)
James is responsible for the legal, compliance, risk management and company secretarial activities of GPT.
James was appointed the General Counsel/Company Secretary of GPT in 2004. Previous experience includes company secretarial and legal roles in construction, infrastructure, and the real estate funds management industry (listed and wholesale).
James holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney.
Donna Byrne
(Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs)
Donna is responsible for internal and external communications across the Group. Communications with investors, including production of reports, quarterly communications, Securityholder meetings, the payment of distributions and GPT’s call centre and registry services are a major part of Donna’s role. In addition, Donna is responsible for corporate communications including media and government relations, brand management, communications with stakeholders and the management of GPT’s internal and external websites and communications programs.
Donna has worked with GPT since 1998 and was appointed Investor Relations Manager in 2000. Previous experience includes roles with Lend Lease (responsible for communications across the Asia Pacific Real Estate Investments business), the Securities Institute of Australia and Westpac Banking Corporation.
Donna holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Education from UTS.
Phil Taylor
(Head of People and Performance)
Phil and his team are responsible for GPT’s people management policies, processes and systems. Phil provides assistance and advice to management on all aspects of human resources including organisation structure, recruitment and selection, induction and orientation, compensation and benefits, talent and performance management, and learning and development.
Phil has 17 years experience in human resources within the banking and finance sector, the last 10 of which has been devoted to real estate funds management. Phil has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Newcastle and a Masters of Commerce in HR Management from the University of NSW.

Nicholas Harris
(Head of Wholesale)
Nicholas is responsible for GPT’s funds management activities, including the development of the Group’s funds management platform and the creation of new products. Nicholas joined GPT in mid 2006. Nicholas has been involved in the Australian property and property funds management industry for over 20 years, including seven years with BT Funds Management Limited and five years with Lend Lease as Fund Manager of the Lend Lease Real Estate Partners series of funds. During his career, his roles have included property and asset management, portfolio management, capital transactions and business development.
Nicholas has a Land Economics degree from the University of Technology, Sydney (University Medal and First Class Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is a member of the Executive Board of The Asian Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV), a member of the IPD Pooled Property Fund Index Advisory Group, a member of the Property Council of Australia’s NSW Capital Markets Research Committee and a member of the Property Council of Australia’s Unlisted Property Roundtable. He is also a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
Tony Cope
(Head of Office)
Tony and his investment, development, sustainability, and financial management teams are responsible for the overall investment performance and development of office investments for GPT and GWOF. This involves setting the strategic direction for the portfolio, intensive management of comprehensive asset plans for each property in the portfolio, creating development opportunities from both existing properties and new sites, leasing, acquisitions, disposals, and sustainability to ensure the portfolio continues to meet long-term investment objectives. The team also liaises with JLL and Dexus who undertake property management of office assets.
Tony joined GPT in 1996, prior to which, he was National Engineering Manager at Honeywell and National Property Manager at Lend Lease – both previous roles having involvement with GPT’s office, industrial and retail assets. Tony’s experience ranges from construction, development, leasing and property management to portfolio management.
Tony has Honours and Masters degrees in Engineering and postgraduate industry qualifications.
Mark Fookes
(Head of Retail)
Mark and his team are responsible for the overall performance of GPT’s retail assets. This includes the intensive management of each of the shopping centre assets in the portfolio to maximise investment performance.
In addition, Mark’s team undertake value enhancing developments which range from greenfield opportunities like the development of Rouse Hill Town Centre (2008), significant refurbishment projects such as Melbourne Central (2005) to major expansions such as the current project at Charlestown Square.
Mark has over 20 years experience in the retail property industry, including roles with Lend Lease as Head of Retail (Asia Pacific) and General Manager of Retail Property Management and Leasing.
Mark is a Board Member of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales.
Victor Georos
(Head of Industrial/Business Parks)
Victor and his team are responsible for the overall performance of GPT’s portfolio of industrial and business park assets. This involves the development of comprehensive asset plans setting the strategic direction for the portfolio to ensure assets continue to meet long-term investment objectives, including overseeing leasing and development, acquisitions and disposals. They also manage the performance of JonesLangLaSalle, who undertake property management for the portfolio.
Victor joined GPT in 1996 and is a qualified Valuer and Land Economist with 20 years experience in the property industry in funds and asset management and development.
Victor holds a Bachelor of Business (Land Economy) degree and a Graduate Diploma of Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and is an associate of the Australian Property Institute. He is also a Director of the Sydney Olympic Park Business Association Board.
Jonathan Johnstone
(Head of Transactions)
Jonathan is responsible for identifying asset opportunities consistent with the Group’s strategy and building capital relationships to complement the capital available through GPT and its wholesale funds.
Jonathan joined GPT in June 2005 and was appointed to his current position in January 2010. He has over 30 years experience in the property industry both in Europe and Australia with Lend Lease, Jones Lang La Salle and DTZ.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Estate Management, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, a NSW Real Estate License and is a Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Rosemary Kirkby
(Head of Communities)
As Head of Communities, Rosemary oversees GPT’s social investments and Corporate Responsibility activities.
With a background in human resources and project management, over the past ten years Rosemary has combined her experience in cultural change, leadership development and organisational behaviour with design. Rosemary uses design to cultivate the conditions for the development of strong communities by engaging people in the co-creation of those environments.
Rosemary is currently Principal of design consultancy Rosemary Kirkby & Associates whose past clients included the University of Melbourne, Monash University, Pfizer, Challenger Financial Services, Stockland and the University of Adelaide.
Rosemary is a Senior Fellow in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne.
Judy Barraclough
(Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs)
As Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs for GPT, Judy is responsible for driving the Group’s strategic planning process, developing and leading the Group’s research function and contributing to the development of GPT’s innovative culture and infrastructure.
Judy commenced with GPT in May 2010, and joined the Group after spending 6 years at Rabobank, where she was General Manager of Strategy and Planning. Prior to Rabobank, Judy spent 12 years with Wesfarmers in a variety of diverse roles covering strategy, economics, research, marketing and e-business.
Judy holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney and an MBA from the AGSM at UNSW.
