Overview

Listed on the ASX in 1971, the GPT Group is one of Australia’s longest standing and largest listed property groups, with an investor base of approximately 50,000 Securityholders and assets of $13 billion as at 31 December 2008. The GPT Group’s business is focused on the ownership, management and development of high quality Australian real estate.

Core business

GPT’s core business represents 80% of total real estate investments and includes:

Property ownership, through GPT’s large, high quality investments in Australian retail, office and industrial real estate;
Property funds management, focused on two core wholesale funds in Australia and a number of individual capital partners; and
Property development of quality Australian assets, both on GPT’s balance sheet and on behalf of the Group’s Australian wholesale funds and individual capital partners.

Other investments

GPT has a number of other investments which are non-core to the future strategic focus of The GPT Group. These represent 20% of GPT’s real estate investments and include:
