The Quarter will be Darwin’s key alfresco dining and entertainment destination, with 5,500sqm of dining and entertainment space and seven first to Darwin eateries. The new precinct will also be a great place for families to come and for people to socialise, including a Timezone, interactive kids play and water areas, a civic space and free convenient undercover parking.
The precinct will be officially opened to the public on 8 July with Casfest, a weekend of live music, entertainment, kids’ activities, special offers and more.
GPT’s Head of Retail, Vanessa Orth said GPT is very confident about the long-term economic outlook for Darwin. “We are very excited to be delivering this food and leisure offering to the people of Darwin,” said Ms Orth. “GPT is continuing to invest in Casuarina Square to service the needs of Darwin’s fast growing population.” “GPT has spent $34 million on the new food and leisure precinct, $35 million on a new student accommodation at Casuarina Square and $4.5 million on Australia’s largest rooftop solar installation at the centre,” Ms Orth said.
The seven ‘First to Darwin’ eateries as part of new dining precinct include: The Groove Train, Grill’d, PappaRich, Max Brenner, Cantina de Mad Mex, Nutrition Station Café; and Sushi Bay. Other food retailers in the precinct will include Hog’s Breath Café, Nandos, Baskin Robins, Chatime and Casuarina Square’s second Coffee Club café.
The Quarter will also feature brand new premises for Casuarina Dental Suite and Western Diagnostic Pathology, the addition of Physiotherapy@Casuarina and an expanded, refurbished Edge Gym. Other first to Darwin retailers at Casuarina Square include Napoloeon Perdis, Cotton On Kids and Hairhouse Warehouse which were recently opened; and Platypus Shoes and Skechers which are opening soon.
